"A CPA's job can easily be viewed as a "reactive" role……dealing with historical financial statements, filing tax returns for the prior year. It is the ability to take these building blocks, and turn this compliance data, into meaningful information so that clients can become "proactive' with their finances, with their businesses and with their lives".
